Elevate your lifestyle, expand your network, and put your expertise to the test with elite captaining opportunities for distinguished clientele.
You became a captain because you live for adventure and won’t settle for anything less than complete freedom. We help you find both.
Our clients trust us to safely charter and transport their priceless assets––we hire qualified captains like you to fulfill that promise.
If you share our commitment to environmental consciousness, local impact, and boater safety, you’ll be right at home as a Coastal Captain.
We’re captains, same as you, so we understand the unfortunate drawbacks of our profession: unexpected extensions of long and boring trips that cut into your personal plans, lonesome commercial routes, and all-nighters, just to name a few.
As a Coastal Captain, you’ll set your own hours and earn as much as you can handle––your lunch is covered, too. All we ask for is your timeliness, reliability, and client-first attitude.
We ensure that our captains have everything they need to deliver exceptional experiences to our clients. We’ll send you detailed safety protocols, first aid instructions for health emergencies, boat maintenance checklists, and even guidance for embodying our charming brand personality.
We’ll coordinate your travel to the launch site, provide simple tools for expense reimbursement, and even send you a link to our Coastal Captains playlist to put you in the right mood.
Coastal Captains is built on our relationships with clients. Forget long, lonely commercial trips with no end in sight––our clients view our captains as friends and indispensable guides during their time at sea.

become a captainCoastal Captains are required to have their Master's USCG license in order to operate to the capacity we expect, and our clients deserve. There will be no exceptions to this rule in order to maintain our standard. To learn more on the requirements for a proper Master's license suitable for our company, visit this link.
Clients are free to book any captain they choose, provided that captain has stated they are available. Clients will be able to browse Captain profiles to find the one that’s right for them. Coastal Captains diligently monitor and update their availability to ensure clients have the transparency they need to book their next adventure.
Most procedures are covered in the employee handbook that all Captains will have access to. Once you’re hired, this will be issued to you, so make yourself familiar, but the copy is always accessible to reference.
Captains who are onboarded will have the option to receive payment via direct deposit or a check in the mail. Upon completion of the job payment will be scheduled. Don’t forget about those tips either! All Captains are paid in an efficient & timely manner at the end of each month.
Of course, for boats larger than 40’ we recommend clients include a deckhand in their booking. Deckhands will also be provided at no additional cost to help refine their skills and mold the next generation of Coastal Captains.
